The first West African Railway Conference and Expo is to hold by April 2019 at the Convention Centre of Abuja Chamber Chamber of Commerce and Industry,Abuja,Nigerian federal capital.
According to a statement by the Executive Director of EriAuto,Moses Akinbobola,the organizer of the event,the conference will focus on Railway Financing while the exhibition and expo target all stakeholders in the railway industry.
Th organiser noted that the event is organised in collaboration with Railway Business Magazine, a pan-African railway focussed publication based in Nigeria as well as the Federal Ministry of Transportation in Nigeria.
The railway financing conference will review the current financing model,the contentious Chinese funding and other options. We have lined up as key speakers top officials of Road and Belt Initiative from China,chief executives of national railway organisations all over the world, Chief executives of railway firms,top transport ministers from Africa and beyond as well as critical stakeholders and experts in the field.
“The expo is expected to attract the patronage of many exhibitors from railway firms to suppliers and contractors. It is going to be a veritable platforms for deal making as many agencies with railway projects will be on ground to strike deals with manufacturers.
“More details on the conference and exhibition will be unveiled by the end of October”,the statement concluded.
