#Bombardier to Supply 28 double-decker Wagons to US Operators

Bombardier Transportation has signed a $108 million contract for 28 double-decker wagons, eight of which will be equipped with control cabins.

The wagons were ordered for several passenger carriers operating on the Pacific coast of the United States, led by Sound Transit, a company based in Seattle, Washington, as part of the general procurement procedure.

Double-decker Bombardier wagons have been supplied to North America since 1978 and are operated by 14 passenger operators in the US and Canada.

The new-built cars are equipped with advanced collision energy absorption systems, air conditioning devices and other modern equipment, including energy-efficient interior lighting.

New wagons will be assembled at the Canadian company Bombardier in Thunder Bay (Ontario). Their transfer to customers will begin in the fourth quarter of 2021 (computer graphics, source: Bombardier).
