Moscow State University compared the level of technical development of JSC Russian Railways with 99 foreign companies. The study showed that Russian Railways is demonstrating an advanced or comparable level of development in half of all technical solutions (out of 101) and in 3/4 of quantitative indicators (out of 126) of its peers. This was announced today by the company in the Telegram channel of Russian Railways. 

According to three indicators, JSC “Russian Railways” is recognized as the absolute leader – cargo intensity, energy efficiency, the share of freight shipments delivered in compliance with the specified delivery time. 

Russian Railways is also among the leaders in digital transformation . Projects of the electronic platform Freight transportation ” and the “ Avtomashinist ”system . 

The study was conducted with the aim of identifying areas of innovative and technological development that can increase competitiveness.

“We plan to work out priority solutions in the following areas: passenger transportation, transport and logistics system, end-to-end digital solutions, organization of unmanned driving, ecology and environmental protection,” the company said in a statement.

Russian Railways is the owner of the public railway transport infrastructure, according to which 45.9% of the freight turnover of the Russian transport system, including pipeline transport, and 89.2% of the freight turnover excluding pipeline transport, as well as a significant volume of cargo transit were carried out in January-February .(Gudok.ru)
