The expert session of the Foresight of the Scientific and Technological Development of Russian Railways for the period up to 2050 was held on August 11 via videoconference.
This was reported in a press release from NP Association of Railway Equipment Manufacturers (OPZhT).
The event was attended by Anatoly Chabunin, Deputy Director General – Director for Internal Control and Audit of Russian Railways, Boris Lapidus, Chairman of the Joint Scientific Council of Russian Railways, Dmitry Verbov, Head of the Center for Innovative Development of Russian Railways, Dmitry Verbov, Head of the Informatization Department of Russian Railways Kirill Semion, Rector of NRU MAI Mikhail Pogosyan, Chief Economist of VEB.RF Andrey Klepach, Head of Analysis and Forecasting at the Center for Macroeconomic Analysis and Short-Term Forecasting Dmitry Belousov, President of OPZHT Valentin Gapanovich.
During the session, issues related to trends in the development of electricity generation and energy sources for rolling stock, autonomous driving, trends in the development of competitive advantages of various modes of transport, the use of new materials and information technologies were discussed.
The participants analyzed a wide range of factors that directly or indirectly affect the development of the Russian economy, the transport industry and its technological base.
The results of the foresight will be presented to the management of Russian Railways for making strategic decisions on the development of the holding, as well as for formulating proposals for developing and updating the Transport Strategy of the Russian Federation and the Strategy for the Development of Railway Transport.(Gudok.ru)
