Representative office of JSC Transmashholding (TMH) in Africa – TMH Africa and United Wagon Company (UWC) on December 8, 2020 in Johannesburg (South Africa) signed a framework agreement on the joint production and supply of freight cars for the needs of African consumers.
Orders will be carried out at TMH Africa’s production site in Boksburg, Gauteng, near Johannesburg. The range of works described by the agreement includes the production, assembly and maintenance of freight cars and their components. The company in Boksburg has a 100-year history and specializes in the production, maintenance and modernization of rolling stock for 1067 mm gauge railways.
UWC, in turn, will be able to place orders at TMH Africa facilities on favorable terms.
UWC hopes that the African market will become the basis for mutually beneficial cooperation with Transmashholding and will further expand the company’s presence at the African con as well as optimizing the supply of products by localizing the assembly and maintenance of wagons already in operation (photo: TMH).
