Amani Abu Zeid
In her first statement after her overwhelming victory over her competitors in the elections that took place today in the African Union for the position of Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy of the African Union, Dr. Amani Abu Zeid said that her re-election to the position of Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy of the African Union is a great honor.
Abu Zeid added: “On this occasion, I would like to thank President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his generous patronage, and forgive Shoukry, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and his assistants, for their support that resulted in the success of the Egyptian candidate by winning 50 votes, the loudest vote in the African Union elections.”
Dr. Amani Abu Zeid added, “I pledge to continue to work diligently to raise the flag of Egypt whispering and serve our African continent in the fields of transport, energy and informatics, and I am keen to ensure that the pioneering Egyptian national experience is an example for the whole world to follow.”
It is noteworthy that the Executive Council of the African Union re-elected, today, the candidate of Egypt, Dr. Amani Abu Zaid Ali, as Commissioner of the African Union for Infrastructure, Energy, Informatics and Tourism (Air and Maritime Transport, Railways, Roads, Energy, Digitization and Tourism) for a second term of 4 years, “2021-2024”.
Dr. Amani Abu Zeid won a big victory over her rivals for the position, as she won the votes of 50 African countries, member states of the African Union, a victory that was described as “sweeping.”
