Ethiopia’s construction industry is forecast to become Sub-Saharan Africa’s largest in 2021, Afreximban Trade Intelligence Service has disclosed.
According to its 2021 second quarter report, Ethiopian narket reforms and favorable tax terms have made the sector more appealing.
Construction has begun on phase two of the USD54.8 million mixed-use Addis Ababa Riverside Green Development Project. Additionally, financing for a feasibility study of the proposed Ethiopia-Sudan railway has been secured.
The railway will give Ethiopia access to Port Sudan on the Red Sea. Further, construction on various road projects, serving as a corridor between Ethiopia and Sudan began in March 2021.
#Ethiopia had earlier launched plans for a Port to Port Railway with #Somaliland as a follow up to its Ethio-djibouti railway line.
it will connect Berbera Port into Ethio-Djibouti Railway network under the public private partnership (PPP) investment platform.
The project is expected to be carried out under the country’s 10 year development plan.
