Kamal Nasri takes office as head of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport

ALGIERS- The new Minister of Public Works and Transport, Kamel Nasri took up his duties on Monday to replace Mr. Farouk Chiali, following the ministerial reshuffle ordered on Sunday by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

In a statement to the press at the end of the handover ceremony which took place at the headquarters of the ministry, Mr. Nasri addressed his thanks to the President of the Republic for the confidence he has placed in him in charging it with its two “important” sectors, asserting that he will work to implement a plan comprising a number of priority files in accordance with the presidential program and the Government’s action plan.

The public works and transport sectors have achieved several gains known to all, continued Mr. Nasri who showed his determination to continue these “battles for development”.

“We are able to gain the upper hand in all these battles with precise objectives, a strong will, a deep faith and hard work that will allow us to avoid wasting time and achieving the expected objectives”, a- he declared.

And to add: “We are at the service of the country and of development through the cooperation of everyone and the conjugation of the efforts by facing the difficulties with a high sense of responsibility and a lot of will”.

For his part, Mr. Chiali expressed his “pride” in the past experience at the head of the sector, believing that the results obtained were only the fruit of collective work and the combined efforts of a whole group. each.

As a reminder, Mr. Nasri has held the post of Minister of Housing, Urban Planning and the City in the Government of Abdelaziz Djerad since January 2020.

Born on February 17, 1961 in Algiers, Mr. Nasri, holder of a state engineer diploma in civil engineering obtained in 1986, has held several positions, including Secretary General at the Ministry of Housing (2019) and Director General housing
