Renfe has selected Zeleros, the only Spanish company that develops a super fast hyperloop train, within the framework of the acceleration program of startups that it has in place together with Telefónica.
Zeleros is one of the four startups that the Spanish public operator has chosen among the 240 that were presented to the call.
The company has chosen the promoter of the ‘hyperloop’
Spanish for considering that “responds to the challenge of logistics on
demand” of the company.
Zeleros develops a transport method to connect cities and logistics ‘hubs’ at speeds of up to 1,000 kilometers an hour and with reduced energy costs.
Promoted by three Spanish engineers, the firm is also the only Spanish company that deals with a project of this type, one of the three European and one of the six worldwide embarked on the development of this type of transport.
The other three startups chosen by Renfe are Limmat Group,
dedicated to the development of intelligent solutions to improve the
efficiency in the maintenance and operation of infrastructures, as well
as IoMob, which provides infrastructure for the ‘Internet of mobility’
and Nixi1, which It has a system to book tourist services through apps.
Each one of these four ‘startups’ will receive a grant of
50,000 euros, as well as a personalized acceleration plan,
administrative and legal advice, training and access to a networking
On their side, the companies will contribute to incorporate the methodology, knowledge and entrepreneurial culture to the Renfe group, as well as to “identify and promote innovation and internal talent”.
