“Our developments and a number of new points gave the following result: first, we made 70 targeted decisions to reduce tariffs, our shippers were able to save more than 20 billion,” said Oleg Belozerov, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Russian Railways, at a meeting with the President of the Russian Federation on April 5 this year. – Second, we applied digital logistics: almost 80% of our documents are now processed electronically, and last year there was no need to come to us, but it was possible to complete everything practically from home quickly enough. At the same time, the number of containers in transportation reached record values - 5 million 800 thousand, an absolute record. At the same time, flexitanks, liner bags, open top containers appeared, even coal was transported in containers last year ”.

This year, the company is making efforts to reach pre-pandemic indicators for the transportation of passengers and cargo.

Russian Railways has set a course for decarbonizing its activities: reducing carbon fuel consumption will ensure the achievement of its own sustainable development goals in the field of environmental protection and environmental safety. In addition, Russian Railways was the first in the transport sector to attract an international loan (UniCredit provided a loan of 585 million Swiss francs for seven years) linked to environmental KPIs. The interest rate is tied to the achievement of sustainable development targets set by the Environmental Strategy of JSC Russian Railways until 2030
