* Ivory Coast,Bouygues Construction Sign Memorandum of Understanding
The Ivorian Prime Minister, Amadou Gon Coulibaly presided on Tuesday in Abidjan, the ceremony of signing a memorandum of understanding between the State of Côte d’Ivoire and Bouygues Construction, for the start of the work of the line 1 of the Abidjan rail Metro.
The documents of the memorandum of understanding were initialed by the ministers Amadou Koné (Transport), Adama Coulibaly (Economy and Finance) and Moussa Sanogo (in charge of the Budget and State Portfolio) for the Ivorian side, reports a note of information of the Ivorian Prime Minister.
The cost of the works is about 893, 84 billion FCFA (1.360 billion euros). The Metro will transport 530000 passengers daily between the town of Anyama and Félix Houphouët Airport – Boigny d’Abidjan on a linear 37 km.
It will revolutionize and streamline urban transport in Abidjan, and will positively impact the national economy and the quality of life of many homes, thanks to the 2,000 jobs it will generate.
The works of Line 1 of the Abidjan Metro were launched on November 30, 2017 by the Ivorian Presidents, Alassane Ouattara, and French, Emmanuel Macron.
