IRJ launches Women in Rail Award

International Railway Journal is seeking nominations for its first Women in Rail Award. With various railways and industry companies looking to boost their share of female employment, we are set to showcase the leading lights who are breaking down barriers and achieving remarkable things.

The awards will recognise leadership, engineering, rising star, and general achievement. The winners will be announced in the June 2022 edition of IRJ magazine.

“The railway industry has traditionally suffered from a gap between male and female employment representation,” says IRJ editor-in-chief, Kevin Smith. “A lot of work is taking place to close this gap and many railways and industry companies are reaping the benefits of a more diverse workforce. IRJ’s first Women in Rail award will put a spotlight on some of the individuals who are achieving remarkable things and are serving as an inspiration to others. We are really looking forward to going through the entries and hearing about the amazing work taking place.”

To nominate yourself or a colleague for an IRJ Women in Rail award, please complete the questionnaire which is available by clicking here. Nominations will remain open until May 12.
