Exclusive: Kayode Opeifa Tipped to Head NRC

There are strong indications that former Lagos State Transport Commissioner, Dr Kayode Opeifa has been tipped to be next Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation(NRC).

Opeifa, a close confidant and loyalist of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is according to Nigerian presidency sources billed to be announced soon with a mandate to conduct a branch and root reform of the railway agency.

President Tinubu is reported to have resolved to indeed unbundle the old corporation into three separate companies, a task the Presidency believes cannot be handled by the incumbent Managing Director.

Dr Opeifa is the Executive Director of the Centre of Sustainable Mobility and Access Development (CenMAD) and he holds strong views about the Nigerian railway sector.
